HARVEST PROFILE: Not much is known about clam resources on Silent Beach, but there is at least one area that is good for harvesting Manila clams. That area is approximately a half mile south of the northern boundary of this beach (map). Native littleneck clams can be found here and they appear to be abundant in places. There are probably horse clams and cockles on this beach. Geoducks can likely be found in the lower tide zone.

There are some oysters on Silent Beach. They may be abundant in places.

COOK ALL SHELLFISH: To learn about Vibriosis in oysters and other shellfish click here .

DIRECTIONS TO SITE: This is a boat access only site. There is no upland access to this beach. The closest boat ramps to the Manila clam spot on Silent Beach are the Point Whitney ramp (about 3 miles away by boat), located north of Brinnon on Bee Mill Road and Quilcene Marina ramp (about 4.3 miles away by boat), located south of Quilcene on Linger Longer Road.

Silent Beach is about two miles long from boundary to boundary. Silent Beach is bordered on the south by North Tabook Point. The northern boundary is not clearly marked but it is about one half mile north of the Manila clam spot (map). GPS coordinates for the clam spot are: 47.788º N, 122.79º W. When in doubt please stay near these coordinates to avoid trespassing.

FACILITIES: There are no facilities at Silent Beach. There are facilities for boaters at Pleasant Harbor Marina.
