Special Youth Fishing Events

Dozens of special fishing activities for kids are held in Washington every year, most of them during April, May and June. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, for example, sponsors 12 Fishing Kids events throughout the state every spring, each one providing fishing opportunities for several hundred youngsters ages 5 through 14. Fishing clubs, civic organizations and other groups sponsor a number of fishing derbies for kids and families through the spring and summer, many of them open to the public. Look for more information about Fishing Kids and other youth fishing events on the Department of Fish and Wildlife’s website, www.wdfw\.wa\.gov/
