Tanwax Lake is currently open from the fourth Saturday in April through October 31st. The lake offers good opportunity to harvest hatcherystocked rainbow trout, naturally reproducing largemouth bass, black crappie, yellow perch, brown bullhead catfish, and pumpkinseed sunfish. Crappie is managed with a 9-inch minimum size and a 10- fish bag limit.
A WDFW access on the north shore provides a paved boat ramp and toilets. Two private resorts also provide boat rentals, dock and bank access.
