Long Lake does not receive any hatchery fish, but has good fishing for coastal cutthroat in the spring. Largemouth bass and yellow perch fishing can be good there in the spring and into the summer, and fishing for bluegill and black crappie can be fair to good in the late summer and into the fall. The lake is long and very shallow, becoming weedy in mid-summer. But it is perfect habitat for warmwater fishing and supports largemouth up to nine pounds.
