Bear Lake

Bear lake is located in the Oak Creek Wildlife Area about 15 miles west of Naches. Although open to fishing year-round, this small lake is generally not accessible by vehicle until late April or early May due to snowpack.  There is an unpaved forest road to the lake.  Elevation is 4610 feet.

Due to access problems for large hatchery trucks the lake will no longer be stocked with catchable size rainbow trout, but instead will be stocked with cutthroat trout fry.  Since the trout fry need to grow to a catchable size, anglers should not expect a decent fishery until 2015-2016.
