The North Elton Pond is located near Selah, alongside Interstate Hwy I-82. It is open only during the winter months from December 1 -- March 31. The pond is owned by the Washington Department of Transportation.
The lake is stocked with 1/2 pound rainbow trout and fishing is very good during the winter fishery. There is a two-trout daily limit.
Anglers should take safety precautions if trying to fish through the ice during the coldest winter months.
