A Vehicle Use Permit is REQUIRED
on ALL WDFW LandsAbout Vehicle Use Permit The Cherry Valley Wildlife Area includes 386 acres of historically dairy farm land one mile north of Duvall on SR203. The area is in King County in the floodplain of the Snoqualmie River.
The land contains about 50 acres of natural, wooded swamp and 50 acres of wooded hillside. The rest is in grass fields separated by drainage ditches. Reed canary grass covers much of the area. There are about 15 small, artificial ponds on the area. Flooding is common between October and March with depths up to 21 feet recorded. The predominant wildlife use is by waterfowl and a variety of nongame species.
The Cherry Valley Wildlife Area provides the public with opportunities to hunt, fish, and train hunting dogs. The major recreational use is waterfowl hunting and pen-reared pheasant hunting. Other major uses include dog walking and training, and nature observation. The unit has two parking lots for recreational users.
