DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
I RECEIVED THIS CALL FROM RP. THE RP SAID HE RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE COMPLAINANT REGARDING A COUGAR KILLING THEIR DOG. ACCORDING TO COMPLAINANT SHE ARRIVED AT HOME TO FIND A COUGAR DRAGGING HER GREAT PYRENEES DOG FROM HER YARD. I GAVE THE RP AUTHORITY TO RESPOND AND IF IT WAS CONFIRMED TO RUN AND EUTHANIZE THIS COUGAR. THE RP RESPONDED IN ABOUT 1 HOUR FROM WHEN WE RECEIVED THE CALL. HE CONFIRMED THE DOG HAD BEEN KILLED BY A COUGAR. HE PURSUED A COUGAR JUST 300 YARDS FROM THE KILL SITE. THIS COUGAR WAS TREED A SHORT TIME LATER AND EUTHANIZED. THE COUGAR WAS A YOUNG MALE AND HAD VERY THIN/POOR BODY CONDITION. THE COUGAR WAS TRANSPORTED TO WDFW VET FOR A NECROPSY.
