DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT
REPORTING PARTY STATED THAT HE HEARD HIS COW IN DISTRESS. SINCE IT WAS CALVING SEASON, HE CHECKED ON HER AND FOUND IT IN THE DARK HAVING JUST GIVEN BIRTH. A COUGAR WAS ABOUT 25' AWAY FROM THE COW. HE WAS ABLE TO SCARE IT AWAY, BUT WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE THE CALF. THE CALF WAS LATER FOUND, BUT DIED FROM IT'S INJURIES FROM A COUGAR ATTACK. THE REPORTING PARTY WAS GIVEN OPTIONS TO PROTECT HIS LIVESTOCK.
