Dive Safety
Diving can be dangerous so, dive to your ability, training and experience level.  Please check currents before you dive.

Spearfishing
The diver must be swimming or floating in the water while spearfishing. The use of explosives or bullets attached to the spear ("bang sticks") is prohibited. See Fishing in Washington Rules and Regulations for more information.

Diving in Washington 

Take the plunge using this map which highlights 45 diving sites in Puget Sound and provides information about the following marine habitats: eelgrass, kelp beds, mud sand and rocky habitats. Divers will find opportunities to view an array of invertebrates, giant Pacific octopus, and schools of rock fish in Puget Sound marine habitats. People can learn more about marine life at one of the 10 marine science centers listed on the map. Information is provided on marine protected areas, dive safety and local current information.
