Subject: WDFW Lack of Hunting Support

Dr. Koenings:

At a meeting in Olympia a couple of months ago, attended by you and sportsmen from around the state, you were advised that it appears that the WDFW does not support hunting as evidenced by the lack of hunting information available at WDFW booths.

A 5-day sportsmen's show in Puyallup attended by approximately 42,000 sportsmen just concluded Sunday. The WDFW had a booth, but again it only addressed fishing. While working at the Pierce County Sportsmen's Council booth, I was asked a hunting question that I could not answer and recommended the individual go to the WDFW booth and get the answer. He told me that he had just left there, and the WDFW only had fishing information and WDFW representatives manning the booth could not answer his hunting questions.

I hope that the meeting in Olympia where you requested an exchange of information to address concerns was not totally in vain.
