The following e-mail message was received by WDFW Director Jeff Koenings From: Dan Moore To: director@dfw.wa.gov Date: 10/18/2003 9:16 AM Subject: thanks I wrote several times earlier this year expressing my concerns about the DFW programs and lack of open minds in developing new seasons and opportunities for different user groups. I would like to think that I was instrumental in persuading the department to make some changes this year (but then I would have such a big head my hat wouldn't fit any more). However, I feel there must have been more input such as mine to persuade the department to listen and make changes spreading opportunity throughout user groups this season. You did this by expanding hunting areas for user groups (mainly muzzleloaders) and separating drawing permits to each user group. I would still like to see more areas opened up during muzzleloader season to spread the hunters out more. With so few areas open hunters it is quite crowded in the few areas that have good animal populations. I feel the department has made good strides in increasing opportunity and evening the field for different user groups this year. I hope you continue on this path until you are able provide equal opportunity to all user groups. Thank you
