The following e-mail message was received by WDFW Director Jeff Koenings To: director@dfw.wa.gov Date: 07/02/2003 5:14 PM Subject: Appreciation for the help Being with the Department of Transportation we get calls all the time for roadway problems. The evening of June 26th our office was called for an oil spill on Hwy 97A north of Rocky Reach Dam (north of Wenatchee). When our person arrived at the scene your employee Doug Ward was there. He had already put some sand on the area and was doing traffic control, in an area which was very dangerous due to sight distance. Mr. Ward stayed long enough for our employee to spread out some absorbent material and make the roadway safe again for the traveling public. I wasn't sure what would be the best way to give Doug our thanks and maybe let his supervisors know how appreciative we were for the help.
