The Kent EagleCam Story

Update February 2008
Yes indeed for those of you eager, early eagle watchers you did see a person in the eaglecam a few weekends back. As the bald eagle nest degraded and fell apart through winter storms and months the camera views needed adjusting (so many of you knew that). This early-season task is always a bit of a guessing game as we aim the cameras at where we “think” the eagles will build-up the nest without losing our intimate view to the bowl of the nest.

This year the eagles have not conducted mid-winter nest maintenance and the winter squirrel tenants have continued to rob the nest of sticks to a small size never recorded before of remembered by the landowners over many years.

So please stay tune as nest building with this pair is expected to commence soon and send the site to your friends.

TECHNICAL NOTE: Camera 3 video server is awaiting an adjustment but the camera has been reoriented to give what we hope is a distinctive and revealing eagle view.

3 cams are available for viewing the Kent EagleCam.
A third cam view of the Kent bald eagle nest is available this year for your enjoyment. If you have wondered where the cameras are placed in relationship to the nest and what the view looks like from the eagle nest we have placed a few new images to give you that perspective. View of Lake Meridian from the eagle nest and Ground view from the nest tree.

Three web-enabled video cameras show a Kent-area bald eagle nest with live video. The Kent EagleCam features three different views of the nest. The far view - EagleCam1 - Kent and two close views - EagleCam2 - Kent and EagleCam3 - Kent.

What you see depends on whether the eagles are resting, feeding their young, or out searching for food for their hungry brood. Remember, all the events are natural.

In case you missed this past nesting season here are a few video clips that capture eagle activities of nest building, parent feeding and caring for young eaglets and young fledgling preparing to leave the nest.
