Commission lists Fisher, Pygmy Whitefish, and Margined Sculpin

Three species were listed by the Washington Fish and Wildlife Commission at its October 27, 1998 meeting in Olympia. The fisher was listed as State Endangered, while the pygmy whitefish and margined sculpin were listed as State Sensitive. Listings will become effective by early December.

Status reports and listing recommendations for each species had been issued earlier in the year. They went through two public reviews and were the topic of discussion at public meetings in Olympia, Dayton, and Spokane.

Status reports are available at public libraries, the Department's regional offices and Olympia headquarters, or in electronic form (below).
