Briggs Hall is the WDFW Wildlife Veterinarian, specializing in animal capture and restraint, animal health and disease investigations. Briggs spent his first nine years on a dairy farm in the Yakima Valley. His father then went to work for Carnation Milk Farms near Carnation, Washington, where he developed his interest in animal husbandry. Briggs received his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Washington State University in 1968. Briggs worked as a veterinarian in the Seattle area until working for the Department of Fish and Wildlife in 1992. During this time he enrolled in Fish Diseases and Fish Pathology classes at the University of Washington. During this same period Briggs worked as a volunteer providing veterinary support to the Department of Fish and Wildlife where he was eventually hired on a part-time basis in 1992. Briggs has been married 33 years and has five children. He continues to spend whatever free time he has pursuing hobbies in the outdoors.
